
Vancouver South is a vibrant and diverse community with population of over 120,000 residents. The riding is comprised mainly of residential areas, parks, schools, and various small businesses. Over 60% of the residents in this district are immigrants. Vancouver South has large representation from Canadians of Chinese, European, South Asian, and Filipino descent, as well as others from Asia and around the world. The largest sectors of employment are sales and services, business and finance, and the trades.
Vancouver South lies in the area with the following boundaries:
- Western boundary – Granville Street
- Eastern boundary – Boundary Road, with a small jog along School Avenue and Tyne Street
- Northern boundary – 41st Avenue
- Southern boundary – the Fraser River
