Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal

Diamond Jubilee EmblemTo commemorate the 60th anniversary of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s accession to the Throne, a medal has been created to honour the great contributions and achievements of Canadians.

During this year of celebrations, thousands of Canadians will be recognized. The Chancellery of Honours, as part of the Office of the Secretary to the Governor General, will administer the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal program.

Members of Parliament have been invited to nominate deserving candidates for this national honour. As a great opportunity to acknowledge those who have made meaningful contributions to build our community and country, MP Wai Young is asking the public for their input on nominations.

Nominations have now closed. Our office, with the help of a committee, will review applications and reveal the recipients in the Fall, extended to November. We would like to thank all of you for your participation and service to the community!
